My husband is deployed to Iraq. Lcpl in the Marine Corps.
Does anyone have an idea of what he should be getting paid while he's over there? I just don't think he's getting paid right...
Thank you!

If he's been there for less than 30 days, you aren't going to see the extras yet. Depending on his unit you may not get his family sep until after he returns (AF does family sep at the END of deployment as a lump sum) but other units pay family seperation while deployed. Give it time....it'll all be there in the end.

Assuming he has more then 3 years in service his monthly base pay is $1,729.20. On one LES you'll see half that, becasue he's paid twice a month.
\You haven't given me enough to calculate teh add on pays and you shouldn't post all that out here anyway. Instead follow the link below and look it up.

If you aren't receiving an LES in the mail and you don't have access to MyPay, you need to talk to him, get registered there and set up a password so yo can both see the LES online.

There should be someone in his unit who handles finances that you can talk to, if you have power of attorney. The rear d or family support group can give you the number to call. That's what I did but I only found out because I had power of attorney.

He should know what he's getting paid. Next time you talk to him. Ask him.... let him know what he's getting (unless he is keeping up todate himself).

He should be able to take care of it, and if he is too busy to get it done, you should have some family readiness support group that should be able to help you. (at least that's what we call it in the army, I am sure it's the same thing)

While in a hostile area, his pay is expempt from Federal incvome tax. That's a nice little benefit.

His pay W2, will show two figures, total pay, and pay subjet to federal income tax. There';s no need to figure how to break it apart. it will be done for him.
What don't you think is right??
Here's the current pay info.

More than what he makes now. He could get such "extras" like combat pay, seperation, etc... Plus, while he's deployed his pay will be tax free.

you should call your deployment support line and ask for help there, they are the only ones who can give you a straight number because they are attached to your base and not just online suggestions. Hoorah
