The Byzantine Catholics ARE Catholics. They hold all the truths of the Church in common.

The differences lie in the form of worship, or Rite. The Byzantine Liturgy closely resembles the Liturgy of the Orthodox, in form and style. The Latin (Western) Rite is much more common, especially in North America. This Latin Rite is what most people think of when they think "Catholic."

There are no differences in belief among the various Rites of the Catholic Church, only the ways in which it is expressed.

Roman Catholics believe in the Trinity, the Virgin Mary, The Saints, The Apostles. Heaven Hell and Purgatory. Exorcism - thats the gist, there are all sorts of doctrines on the hierarchy of the church and its officers. I was raised Roman Catholic and left the church in 1992 when I chose not to confirm.
