It has to go to a vet as soon as possible. Your mum is obviously not a qualified vet, so she shouldn't be making any diagnosis. She doesn't sound like a particularly caring pet owner either if she dismisses the injury so lightly, which does beg the question, why own a cat if your parents aren't willing to look after it properly ? One thing is for sure, if the limb is broken and not set properly then the animal will be suffering. It might simply be a dislocation however, which is still seriously painful for the animal, but easily fixed. It's certainly not going to fix itself. Go to a vet and if you can't afford to look after the animal, give it to someone who can and will look after it.

Cries?
Keep an eye on him.
My dog limps sometimes when he is stepped on, or handled wrong by the children. Everytime I've refrained from taking him to the vet immediately.
If it gets worse or he doesn't ease up in a day or so, call your vet.
Take the leg that is injured and run your fingers down it. Everytime my dog has limped, he never cried out in pain if I touched it.

this cat needs to go to the vet. most vets will take a payment plan if you tell them upfront.
you should think about starting a savings acount for vet care, put $5 a month in it and use it for emergency vet care when/if needed.

I would say try to wrap up his leg and bring him to the vet right away bec. if you dont get that seen about, your pet could possibly die or be paralized in the legs and will never be able to walk ever again.

He's definitely injured.
Emergency vet-now.
p.s. How in the world did he fall down stairs? Cats rarely fall.

Then give this cat to a shelter and never get a pet again. Pet ownership is not a right - it's a responsibility that comes with giving your pet the care it needs.

Obviously, if he is crying he is in pain! Take him to the pet ER asap!! Your not a doctor, so why ask us?? Any human can tell your pet is hurt, I HOPE you do the right thing, and this better not be a sick joke, we don't need another michael vick.
