Deists believe (to some extent) that God set the universe in motion and then stepped back from it, not interfering with his own creation. If you were a Deist, would you think that was because:

A: He doesn't need to interfere with it. It's perfect.
B: He knows if he does anything he'll just make things worse.
C: This is just a prototype. He's waiting for it to finish.
D: He just doesn't care.

By all means, if you have your own RELEVANT ideas, share them.

D. He was bored with his creation and after a while moved on to something else. Like a kid bored with a toy.

That or he started getting some and decided nookie was more important than creation.

Given the stepping away thing I'd say that it just wanted to watch and see what happened. This would indicate that the deity had no vested or personal intrest in the inhabitants of its creation, or was even aware of them.

I believe the Primal Mover is showing faith in his/her creation. Man cannot think as God thinks. To God, there is no life and death, everything is alive in Him/Her. Pain is an illusion and side effect of human existence that we must bear and try to alleviate to prepare for the next phase. The production of human pain and death is the denial of God's existence and fails to realize the faith S/He has in us to find a better way.

Humans have free will. they do what they want. why not see how it turns out for them? humans are God children and he has to let us learn something. A parent could catch every fall a child makes but how would they learn what sucess is if they have never failed? You need an opposite. You can't have up without down.

I would chose A. Look at the nature, it develops by itself without any help. Even in our world, if we create a perfect system, we don't need to monitorise it anymore cause it works by itself on and on, and the inventor can step back

Well for me it's A. It's like making some robots, program them, put them in one place, make sure they are programed in a way that they won't need my intervention, make sure everything they need is available for them and just lay back and watch what is going on.

Well, I will go with my own idea that we are the cosmic equivalent of an ant farm. He is up there watching and going "OH, cool. How did they figure that one out? and how much longer until they self-destruct?"
