You can't sin before you were born because to sin indicates that you made a choice. This passage refers to a Jewsih way of thinking, kind of a superstition that any person that has an affliction, it had to be because of sin in their life or sin in their parents lives. This type of view was a way for the Pharisees to ignore the impoverished and the hurting people in Jewish society. Sometimes, well, most times, God uses afflicted people, people the world will call weak and worthless, to do great and mighty things. It is one of the reasons that the Pharisees hated Jesus so much. When Jesus healed the blind man, God recieved the glory.

You can't sin before you were born. You are born but with the propensity to commit sin later on in years. usually around the age of 11, 12, 13. Then the age of accountability steps in. You know what rebellion is and you go ahead and rebell and intentionally lie and cheat. At that point is when sin has made its visit.
But like "Christian_Me" said, the sins of the parents can visit the child such as cancer, alcoholism.
Allow me to add that it is so very important for the parents to prey together for the sake of the child before engaging in child "production".

The man's blindness is NOT sin! This is the point. What we perceive as an affliction but it is God work to reveal His mission in every created person. ALL are children of God's creation.

It is what is inherited !!! The nature to sin !!!
The context that Jesus answered in was there was no sin judgement involved in the man's blindness !!! Be always careful of big brush statements !!! Generalizations can give you a percentage of error !!!

The disciples often asked Jesus silly questions while they were with him learning. They did not have miraculous help until after Jesus died and ascended to heaven.

They were like New Christians asking things they don't understand and sometimes believing things not taught.

If you read the bible you will see that Jesus at times got frustrated with their misunderstanding of his teachings. Why do you think he sent the Holy spirit to guide them after he left? He was not going to trust their understanding.

You cannot sin before you are born. In fact, you cannot sin until you reach the "age of reason" when you can distinguish right from wrong and make a free choice.

Sin was brought into the world by Adam/Eve to the whole human race. We don't sin before we are born, like swearing. That isn't what is meant.

One can not sin before birth.
It was commonly believed by Jewish people during that time that if a person had an illness or deformity that it was directly due to a sin.

The nature of sin was injected into Man during the fall, therefore, there is a constitution which eventually manifests itself. That is why Christ died for us, to deal with the sin of all and then to dispense Himself as life into us to no longer habitually live in sin but to express Him in our nature. It is quite glorious.
