Are you looking for a trained guard or protection dog or just a family pet? If you are looking for a trained guard dog I would recommend contacting some of the working dog associations in your area and asking if they recommend a kennel or can put you in contact with members who are happy with there dogs and find out what kennel there dog came from. If you are just looking for a family pet I would steer clear of these kennels as they are breeding for guard/protection dogs and puppies you get from them are going to be much higher drive dogs then the average person can handle. Contact the German Shepherd club in your area (I'm guessing you are in Australia based on the kennels and there are several depending on where you are in the country) they should be able to provide you with a list of breeders. Even if you are looking for a trained guard or protection dog they may be able to refer you. Owning a dog trained for protection or guard is a big responsibility so you want to make extra sure you get a dog trained at a respectable kennel.

i wouldnt buy a dog from either one of those kennels.

why do you want a german shepherd? if you want it to be a family pet or companion, run far far away from the above mentioned kennels or any other place that breeds and trains "guard" dogs. dogs that have been trained that way are not for the inexperienced or even novice handler. no dog should need to wear a muzzle all the time (see rottie in picture of second web site).

if you want one to be a guard dog, maybe you should look at other means of protecting your house before investing in an aggressive dog.

No I haven't purchased a dog from either but can tell you that if you want a purebred German Shepherd, find a reputable breeder. Check with the American Kennel Club online. If you want a registered dog, they will always have papers that show the lineage. They should also have all vet records as well. Some even go so far as to x-ray and microchip, depends on what you want.

1) What no one seemed to look at is the fact that these are kennels in Australia-why would they need AKC registration??

2) DO NOT BUY FROM A PET STORE!!

3) If these really are good breeders, they will be happy to provide a list of people who have purchased their dogs, so that you may contact them for references.

A good breeder should be able to provide you with not only AKC registrations for the puppies, but those of the parents and grandparents. They should also be able to provide you with the parents OFAs, CERF, and other other health screening. If they are saying they are from working lines, they also need to be able to prove it. If they cannot do all of this, they are backyard breeders and you would have the same chance on health, temperaments, and ability with a shelter dog, not to mention you would be saving a life instead of supporting someone simply making money.

What is that!! Nazi training camp for dogs?? Do you live next to Hitler......WHY would you want a dog like that? I would REALLY like to know.. If you neighborhood is that bad, It would be cheaper to move OUT then get one of those man eating dogs. Sorry, a big CAUTION is that they are taking pics of the dogs with MUZZLES ON...so the handlers can't even control them. If they can't control them, how will YOU!!!Talk about a liability!!!

If you would like a NICE, HUGE, GENTLE shepherd google

ISSR Shiloh Shepherds...

If you want a huge liability...go for the Nazi's dogs in training...

Holy crap- Schwhatsit sounds like a puppy mill for guard dogs.

Why are looking to buy a sheperd from these people? Pet or working dog?

EDIT: DO. NOT. BUY. FROM. A. PET. STORE.

If you are looking for a pet, adopt. Otherwise, find a reputable breeder. Not some puppy milling scum.

NO I haven't.

We got our purebred lab from a great breeder.

We're adopting a lab mix puppy from our local shelter.
