I have a german shepherd almost 2 years old. She knows sit, come, no. The only thing is when she is distracted or doing something she thinks is better she ignores me. How do I get my dog to stop ignoring me and do what I tell her to no matter what distraction is around?

It sounds like you and your dog need obedience classes. Your dog will benefit from the socializing, there'll be lots of distractions there, and a qualified instructor can teach you how to train your dog. Unless you're pretty dog-experienced, it's pretty hard to do on your own.

its not that the dog is "ignoring" you. you just need to be firm with her and tell it to her in a deep commanding voice. you need to work with her more, it sounds like. you may need obediance training. i have this problem with my dog, and yes i thought the same thing...i thought he was ignoring me. but now i take him for walks and take him to petstores and work with him, and in my house as well. if you take her out in public, she will see a squirrel or another dog, or a kid riding a bike, etc. and she will get distracted. but right now i am working with my dog, for example when i take him for a walk, and he sees other dogs, and they are barking at him, i stand in front of him and i tell him to sit and stay, and if he lays down, i correct him, and i force his body back up and make him sit and stay...if he keeps laying down, i do it again, bring him back up into a sit and stay. you have to be consitant and stick with it. then i walk around him a few times, and he stay in his sit postion and doesnt move, if he does move, plop his butt back down on the ground, walk around him a few times, as he is sitting, it will work. then also when i would take him for walks he would always pull me and get to excited. so i either hold his collar and walk him, or i take the leash and loop it around his neck (make sure the leash is up behind his ears, not down at the bottom of the neck) this way, you have more control of the dog, and it will teach him that you are in control, not him. it will all go back to him paying attention to you! BUT dont do this for like an hour straight, by then he will get bored, and he wont want to pay attention anymore. work with the dog about 15 minutes in the morning, afternoon and evening, spread the timing out, dont do it all at once. trust me, it will work!! just be pateint, but dont yell or hit the dog, it will learn your commands, it just takes some time! try what i said, and you will see a change. good luck

I would suggest obedience training. You could use her favorite toy or have a treat in your hand and call her to you and when she comes to you give her the toy or treat. Just don't over treat use small pieces. Good Luck Its A lot of Time and Patience.

You should try running through her commands in a variety of situations and insist that she follow those commands. Don't ask your dog to sit or come command that she follow these commands.
