hi, you do not need any tickets. where do you live? i live in connecticut and i had to leave my house around 11 am and i walked around times square for a while and at 4 pm me and my mom went to the gates, we got a perfect spot, not too close and not too far, i dont think they allow you to camp out because theres a lot of traffic and the police have to close the roads that lead to times square so cars cannot get through. if you come ahead of time like a day before book a hotel and go to times square at the right time. make sure you bring warm clothes because me and my mom ended up leaving since she was way too cold.. i was sad because it was my first year to actually wait for the ball to drop and we had to leave back to CT.. do u know how i felt?? i was crying watching the ball drop on TV because that could of been me there!! so yeah you have to arrive early and wait HOURS.

they will not let you pass the gates after 6pm or 7pm, so you have to make sure you're not late. (i remember when we left around 7 the police wouldn't let people pass) oh yeah, by the way, you cant leave too far from the gates because they will not let you re-enter. you can step out and go to the stores nearby that are open but you cant walk more than a block away. so yeah thats another tip.. be aware that when you enter the gates there will be pushing and shoving, lol last year i was being pushed so hard, lol i was like wtf!!

even though you have to wait hours, its all worth it, its a great feeling when you get to count down the hours, and finally the last seconds of 2007.. cant wait to go this year!! good luck and i hope i helped!

I used to work for the Rockefeller Group and watched many a tree lighting. For the past few years now they have not only utilized the ice rink but the roof-top gardens of their buildings as well as, the causeway between 5th Avenue and the tree. If you would actually like to view something you will have to get to Rock Center no later than 11AM.The Christmas Tree Lighting is in Rockefeller Center and is
is scheduled for: November 28, 2007 from 7p-9p. You will have to be there by 11AM so that you can get a spot along the railing that looks down into ice rink or in the causeway. If you do not get one of those spots you will watch the festivities on a monitor. A little bit of advice.....if you really want a great tip....get their first thing in the morning on the weekend(after they light the tree) say around 8AM. You'll have the whole place to yourself, there will be no lines at the skating rink and when your done you will have no wait at the restaurant on the rink so you can have breakfast, watch the skaters and have a dynamite view of the tree AND be out of the area before all the crowds come. WORST time to be there is immediately after a show let's out at Radio City. Good Luck

You will miss it if you are in Times Square.

You will be standing in the cold a very long time with millions of others.

The Christmas Tree Lighting is in Rockefeller Center and is

No camping, you will be standing in the cold with millions of others, from around the world that come to see the event.

Warning: Do Not take personal property with you: Do not take anything you can't afford to have stolen.

Pickpockets love that time of year, they are quick and your valuables will be stolen before you realize it.

If you are traveling with your boyfriend, parents, etc., Everyone should NOT keep anything of value in pockets.

Keep your eyes on your stuff. It can disappear into the night like a flash!

Theft happens during this time of year. Be careful. Don't leave valuables in the open.

If you are staying at a top Hotel you may want to consider storing valuables in the hotel safe. If that appeals to you. Your family may want to make a collective decision on this.

Enjoy the city.

If you go to Times Square bring a TV, since the tree is 8 blocks away.

It's first come, first serve. You cant really "camp" out but you can get there many hours before and wait. It's not worth it though. You will be very cold, tired and starving by midnight. You cant bring any bags so that means no food.
