I know for sure that cosmetic products produced by NuSkin and BodyShop are not being tested on animals. Furthermore, the ingredients come from natural sources and often employ indigenous knowledge and sustainable harvesting methods to produce them.

You can shop for NuSkin products online or go to the nearest BodyShop in your area to make the most ethical consumer's choice for cosmetics and beauty products.

Many cosmetics products are tested on animals as well as medications. Without animal testing it would have to be tested on humans and I don't think many people here would volunteer to be test subjects for the latest round of eye shadow that might have a cancer-causing chemical in it. Animal testing is usually done with as much care put into it as possible. Most labs will not abuse animals and they are certainly not starved or maltreated. If something does harm them, I believe they are put down humanely. Do you think that PETA would waste time on boycotting factory farms if a cosmetics company was testing on animals and then throwing them out in the streets or letting them die painfully? Why boycott a product that has been tested before it was handed to you? ...just a thought. Never follow mindlessly without looking at both sides of the coin.

If you want to avoid products tested on animals, cosmetics and other commonly-tested things such as hygiene products will often carry a seal or label on them that claims they do not use animal testing. It is usually in the fine print and seeing it on one product does not make the entire brand safe, so be sure to look before you buy.

I know of one line of products available on the web where no animal testing is or ever has been done on any of its products including cosmetics which has lots of well known companies that do. You may not like the name but most do: Shaklee Corp. I have used the products for 26 years and have researched it extensively. Like people-you can tell a lot about an individual by his associates, right? So go here and check out the the associates of Shaklee. I like to ask this question: What does a Nobel Peace Prize winner, Healthy Child-Healthy World (non profit child centered organization), Will Steger, the US EPA, the Wild Dolphin Project, Ocean Alliance(a recognized global leader in whale research and conservation), and American Forests (a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration) all have in common?

Ive been vegetarian for 17 years now and the sad thing is that I have not been able to find any company that does not have testing on animals. The company itself might not test on animals but the research was originally done on animals and they are just using that research. I went to a science college and all makeup companies test on animals or use the data from a company that does to make their products.

I know Bath and Body Works doesn't test their products on animals. Other than that I don't know of any.

Brands of WHAT? Motor oil is not tested on animals. Neither is Jewelry, clothing, frozen food, or millions of other things. But all drugs are tested on animals. Every single brand and kind I think.

Most brands test on animals.
But where do you think that the brands who don't get most of their information from - they get their information from other companys who has already tested on animals, so they are just as bad

"What brands are tested on animals"
The good ones.

"and what brands arent?"
The ones that are more likely to kill you because they weren't tested properly.

"i dont want to use products tested on animals!!!"
If you want to replace a lab rat that's your choice, but don't expect me to let you make the choice for me.

"niether should you please help!!!"
I'd rather things be tested on animals that aren't intelligent then on humans who are. There is a distinct difference between intelligent life and non-intelligent life in terms of morality.

"someone needs to stick up for then so this is what i am going to do. :]"
Someone also needs to stick up for product safety.
