I have googled for a recipe and can't find one anywhere.

I have googled and cannot find a recipe anywhere.
I found recipes for beer-battered fish, but I don't know the details of how to use it too cook chips (american French Fries). Normal chips are best when cooked twice.
Should you pre-cook the chips once and then batter them and cook them?
Or batter the raw chips and cook the battered chips twice?
Or to you just batter teh raw chips and cook them once?

1 egg, separated
Dash of Tabasco sauce
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. beer or ale
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. melted butter

Beat egg yolk and beer with dash of Tabasco until well blended. Combine flour, salt and paprika and gradually stir into beer-egg mixture. Continue to stir until batter is smooth. Stir in melted butter. Beat egg white until fluffy and stiff and fold into batter. Dip potato strips into batter and deep fry until done.

Why not take the recipe they use for fish?
I found it and you can use it?i take it sense you use the word chips you are from UK do you mean just plain beer batter or fries as we call it in america?
2 quarts vegetable oil (for frying)
8 (4 ounce) cod fish fillets
salt and pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 (12 ounce) bottle beer

Beer Batter fish

INGREDIENTS
3 eggs
3/4 cup beer
1 1/2 cups milk
4 cups pastry flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons cornstarch
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 pounds cod fillets
2 quarts vegetable oil for frying


DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cornstarch.
In a large bowl, beat together eggs and milk. Mix in beer. Stir in flour mixture. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
In an electric deep fryer or a heavy saucepan, heat oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Coat fish in batter, and submerge in hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes. Serve.


Crispy Beer batter fish--- for 8

INGREDIENTS
2 egg
3 cups beer
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 pounds cod fillets
4 cups crushed cornflake crumbs
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
8 cups oil for frying


DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, beat together egg, beer, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Place cod in the bowl, and thoroughly coat with the mixture.
In a separate medium bowl, mix the cornflake crumbs and Cajun seasoning. Dip the cod in the crumb mixture, and thoroughly coat all sides.
In a large, heavy skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). Fry the fish until golden brown, and flesh is easily flaked with a fork.
