I have 6 cats. I am 22 wks pregnant. My cats were recently soaked with Lime Sulfur Dip because one of them has a very rare mite that the Lime Sulfur Dip only will kill and it has to be applied for 6 weeks, once a week. Its active ingredient is 97.8% Lime Sulfur Concentrate. I asked the nurse and she said I shouldn't touch it & let someone else bathe them which I did. But you're not suppose to dry them so they get this stuff everywhere and I even got some on me and wasn't suppose to but I washed right away. My house smells like rotten eggs and so do my hands because my cats are dry but the stink is still on them. I had a fan & opened window yesterday. Window is open right now.
Anybody else use this stuff or know anything about it? It can cause skin irritation. It's something that we have to do because of this mite and if we don't it causes severe itching on the cats and I don't need any more open sores on them.
Is it bad I can still smell this stuff and should I not have used it?

Next time (next Sunday, not this coming one) they will go there. Yesterday it was in home. I can't get the smell out of my hands & I can't pet my cats and I feel bad. Suppose to be 6 treatments, 6 wks! So I hope that since it's dry, although still stinky, it's ok for me to smell. God I hope I didn't hurt my baby.
Thanks so far.

The Dip is for a rare mite and I forget the exact name. She said it has to be done for 6 wks once a week. If it could be an oral med, that would be great!! The mite starts with a "D" I think.
