Maybe, maybe not. Codeine makes me sick, not deathly sick, but sick. Yet, I can take hydrocodone with no problems.

Probably. After surgery, my wife was found to be allergic to codeine and we discovered this also was true for any member of the codeine family of painkillers as well as their synthetic substitutes. It was disquieting to discover that there are few middle grade analgesics that are not codeine derivatives.

Yes it is the same thing, why are you taking pain killers in the first place if they make you sick?
