The world is what it is, and some people believe God exists while others believe S/He doesn't.
Therefore, it doesn't matter at all. If there were a god, the world would be no different, because the current view of god(s) is one which conforms to the world as it is now. If there is not a god (which is my belief), the world would be no different.

In the end it does not matter if God does or does not exist --- as long as there is free speech, and free choice --- and we do not fight or kill over this matter. That we remain peaceful and understanding --- no matter what one's belief system is.
We still have to get along with each other to live in a peaceful and co-operative society.
There should not be 'brainwashing' present to sway one to one belief or another. In that all information should be available to all, so that people can make an informed decision as to what they believe in. And it is personal anyway - your own belief system.
Debate is good, that is devoid of personal attacks, etc - where emotions do not come into it, and only logic and reason is displayed.

1. Some motivation is required for survival, dear friend.
2. E.g., most people wouldn't participate in Y!A, but for the points and levels.
3. So let's, at least, hypothesize that God exists! Good intentions. No harm done.

It matters here because if God exists, then there is more. More of what, I can't tell you. But there is more, compared with if God does not exist, then there is no more, which makes a difference. It makes a difference because if there is more then it matters, and if there is no more then it matters, therefore, it matters if God exists.

Well does it matter? Yes to me. If when I die I cease to exist and I'm no more. I will not know to be upset about it< but i believe in every beat of my heart there is a Devine.

Until someone provides evidence that a God does exist, I will continue believing that a God does not exist.
And it does not matter.

If god did not exist, I wonder if anyone would create one. Perhaps I should look around.

Tell that to the 9-11 victims. Or the Aztecs. Or the Salem witches. Or the defenders of Jerusalem.
It matters because until we can dispel the god myth, we'll continue to pay for it with our lives.
