Of course, look at all the trouble the churches are in, they have Gods word but is making a mockery out of it.

It is the Most Powerful Weapon in the World;
In most Homes in U.S. It is collecting dust,while Satan is tearing the Hell out of Familes,
God"s Written Word has to be Approached with
Prayer -Faith of Individual And Help of the Holy Spirit; I do not Pray when I read Western Horseman,But the Bible is above Man"s understanding, Not for a "Casual " Person to read;
God"s Power Rest on His Word , To Activate Man
is to use His Faith And The Holy Spirit; Any "Addiction"- Disease or Wasted Life Will have to Bow to the name of "Jesus" The Living Word" That is why a Child at aYoung age that Believes God"s Word an says "It is written and whatever verse , they use ,She or He is Speaking can Chase the Devil;

It is almost necessary to spend lots of time in the Word, discuss with others or use a workbook, and keep a journal. The Bible is extremely complex, and by just "reading" you aren't really using it as God intended. Get a Max Lucado workbook (and there others) and you'll see the benefits!

I think that people are getting some kind of benefit, even if they aren't aware of any learning or understanding. The Holy Ghost always testifies of truth, and I think He will always let you know that what you are reading is true, even if you don't pay attention.

Yes. If the Holy Spirit is not working, then God's Word is incomprehensible.

Yes...as it is written:
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. (James 1)

Some parts are cut and dried, but others more complex and need meditation. Unless a person is a psychopath I would think that they would become a better person or feel very guilty.

If it convinces them to avoid religion, I'd call that a benefit. You probably would not - and vice versa.
Regardless, the answer is "Yes."
