they don't have any right to be rude or inconsiderate to you but i don't think those people deserve your niceness or your sensitivity. you should not get rid of it but instead get rid of the people who do not appreciate you and are rude and inconsiderate to you. get them out of your life. you will soon find people who appreciate you and how you are sensitive and they will never be rude or inconsiderate to you. unfortunately you can't always get away from those people. but just keep your head up. in due time, you will find some good people.

Make sure that they are aware that they have offended or hurt you. Some people do not realize that the things they say can be taken out of context. Sometimes people have been just having fun with me and I took it wrong. I always get my feelings hurt and cry for 2 or 3 days when someone says something wrong or sometimes don't say anything at all. There is always a good reason for their behaviour but if they don't explain it to me I misunderstand. Today someone I think a WHOLE lot of said something wrong, fortunately he told me he was kidding before I got mad and hung up the phone on him. I have a tendency to get mad and then have to explain later why I got mad to start with.
NOW if someone is being rude to you on PURPOSE and they are TRYING to hurt your feelings it is ok to tell them to kiss your rear and walk away from them.
Consider their motives if they have any.....and if the friendship/relationship is worth speaking up for.

Becoming angry or rude is simply bowing down to their level. Walking away without retaliation is showing who is the more mature and in my opinion...intelligent.

A nice sensitive guy shouldn't allow himself to be stepped on by others but he doesn't have to lie down and take it either...sometimes saying nothing speaks louder than if you'd yelled rudely at the person. Less is more ;)

You should be considerate of everyone's feelings and still be aware that not everyone will be considerate of yours . If someone is rude to you, punch them in the face and walk away. Frowning gives you wrinkles so why frown.

Okay I'm kidding. The bigger person won't use profanity or violence to solve things. Just walk away and stay away from insensitive and rude people.

I become angry when someone is rude, and I try to show them that it's not a nice thing they do.

I think if someone is outright rude to you, it's okay to say "listen, that was really inappropriate and I didn't appreciate it."

It's great that you're nice and sensitive but it's also good to say how you feel. If someone's being mean, you don't have to neccesarily be mean back, but let them know it wasn't okay for them to say that to you.

If you don't say anything, you're giving others permission to treat you however they want to.

I try to remember to be tactful, but this is something I have a hard time with, admittedly. With me, a lot depends on the sort of day I'm having, if I feel well, if I've gotten enough sleep, etc.

I've had to do a lot of apologizing in my day.

I guess not, the best thing to do is to take the higher ground and not participate in immature games.

LOL, Its the name of the religion I invented. Its a derivative of pantheism, except it emphasizes the use of psychedelic drugs (Cannabis, Peyote) for meditation and spiritual sessions outside.

i think that people should treat others how they want to be treated. but sometimes that isn't easy to do. i have had friends that cut me down and if you think about it they are not truely your friends. i would give them a taste of their own medicine and see how they like it. some people are just mad at the world.

i think what's more important than 'reducing yourself to another's level' is keeping your blood pressure down. if someone is rude to you, it's better to remain calm and go about your business. you make your point, they make theirs... if you don't want to discuss anymore because they are rude... don't.

I know it's easier said than done, but if you don't really care about the person, why care about what they say or how they say it?

life is stressful enough without having to worry about pricks and their attitutes.
