Yes you need a permit. Can you have the party without one? Sure, people do it all the time. But if the lifeguards come by or any other authority person they have every right to ask to see it. If you can't produce your wedding will be broken up and you'll get a hefty fine as a present.

Practically it's a bad idea IMO. On paper it sounds romantic but I think the execution would be lacking.

1. Little to no electricity to light this night-time reception

2. People might not be thrilled at the thought of attending your wedding in the middle of the night. They like to sleep.

3. Vendors are going to charge you extra fees to work at that strange hour and you probably will not get a caterer to stay that late without some serious dough.

4. Previous poster is correct. Many places won't let you do this because of the fire hazards and potential drowning of your guests

5. How are you going to account for the changing tide? You dont' want your wedding swamped or halfway up the beach from the water

Everything depends on what beach you get married on. If it is in a town or if it is a state beach, on a state beach (in NC) you have to get a permit from a park ranger it cost about $40. The only problem is they can't close it and you may have random people walking by during the ceremony. If you want a more private affair you can look into reantal properties some offer a wedding package and will rope off a section of the beach for the ceremony however you do have to rent the house adjoining the property depending on the season obviously depends on the price. Some require rental for 3-5 days offseason and 7days peak season.

Another thing to check into is if the beach closes at a certain hour most close at dark. However, some have specific hours. Also depending on east coast or west coast you may not get an actuall sunset on the beach. Unless you can get a private/ small public island and be married on the sound side.

The inn Del Coronado in San Diego, CA (I realize it is not Northwest yet is close to to Mexico) has an entire wedding ceremony coordination provider. I even have performed a ceremony on their inner maximum coastline. it is so eye-catching there - it incredibly is one in all my prominent locations next to Hawaii. The coordinators there extremely have a great form of education and are rather effective. They presented my sil with components for centers that i could no longer coordinate from the place i became into residing on the time. Edit: Corpsegirl has a super thought, too. the single I in basic terms performed in Laguna coastline became into so notably - it became into in basic terms the couple and their witnesses and that they have been given a eye-catching room... we in basic terms went on the balcony of their room and did the ceremony w/the sea as a backdrop. CORPSEGIRL - I think of you have already concept-approximately this, yet once you're ceremony is on the coastline, and is being videotaped, be sure there's a mike plugged into the video digicam or your video guy or woman is close sufficient to pay attention or you have a small soundsystem of a few form so which you and your officiant would properly be heard at the same time as conversing.... the sea receives extremely loud and we could no longer come across a quantity administration :}

Hi. It sounds lovely!

First of all....simply call the city where the beach is located to inquire about permits, etc. Most all beaches are public...but still check to be sure what you need to do.

Sunset....simply go to this website and type in the city, date and year and you will see the sunset times. I think it also has the full moon on the site as well.

Depends on the beach. You need to check local regulations; some beaches are very strict, others are not - and there are private beaches tha might allow you to use theirs.

One word of warning: have a backup location that is enclosed. Even if you don't get hit by a hurricane, poor weather can arise and ruin your plans. It also helps if your photographer has a virtual background system, so you can get great beach photos even if you aren't there!

It depends on the city and the number of people you will have. Some cities don't care while others require a permit, which is usually pretty easy to get. Sounds like a beautiful idea.

You'll have to find out from the state that you'll be married in if you need a permit.

instead of getting married at a beahc, why don't you get married at a special spot(place) that you and your love share.
