i read in the bible how when king david played the harp for saul the evil spirit upon him left.

Oh, then aren't I lucky. Since I play the harp, perhaps I can prevent evil from ever bothering me!
Maybe just goodness drives evil away. Be it beautiful harp music or something else.

It worked for David because the " evil spirit" that Saul suffered from was likely depression and paranoia. However, it didn't work all the time, Saul tried to nail him with a spear at least one time while he was playing to sooothe him.

We find our instructions in Romans thru Philemon. No such solution is mentioned there. What everyone needs is an identity change, which God has provided. We are all born "IN ADAM"...when we believe the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as sufficient to reconcile us to God then we receive a DIFFERENT identity as well as a different destination...we are placed into the Body of CHRIST and our destination becomes heaven.
People dont have evil spirits, they have a sin problem, and Jesus Christ paid for all of it in full at the Cross.

Music does have a soothing effect. That statement, I realize, is subject to qualification.
