I cry when I wake up. I don't want to go to school. At school I feel like a failure and the day goes so slow. When I get home, I never feel like doing anything but sleeping. I have takein some online tests, and they say Im depressed, But I can't be becuse I love living, I hate even thinking about death, and when I go to the gym , ( gymnastics) I get fired up and love it untill I do something wrong, then I cry about it. I always cry and never want to go anywhere but the gym and home. I also have a " food problem" type of thing,. you know. So what do you guys think? Should I bring it up w/ doctor or parents?

You def. need to talk to someone about it. If it would be easier maybe talk to a trusted adult or mentor who could talk to your parents with you. If your parents don't understand that there is really a problem then you need to take action yourself and bring it up with the school counselor or even doctor. It sounds like your going through a really tough time...I hope it gets better...hang in there!

The typical onset of clinical depression is crying for little or no reason. This is the first time you felt the power of depression chemicals on the lower/auto brain. The medulla will slow the heart and breathing and other auto body functions. Don't get too afraid of all this . Everyone has it at least once. Learn what is required to offset depression chemicals or avoid making any more. Avoid false hopes and beliefs in life.

Honey, you should definitely talk to your parents. While being suicidal is one of the main symptoms of depression, you CAN be clinically depressed without being suicidal. As for the food problem, even if not for depression, I think it's really time for you to call a family meeting at your house to talk about what's been going on with you, and how best to deal with it.

Yes, talk to your parents. Even tho you love living doesnt mean that you arent depressed. I have suffered from depression for the past 15 some years and I'm not about to kill myself. Have a serious conversation with your parents and be brutally honest with them.

Talk to a dr or counselor soon. There could be more than just depression going on. It could even be a hormonal imbalance.
