...if God can supposedly hear everyone's prayers? What's the point of having 10 people pray for you if God is going to treat one prayer like anyone else's? It seems like praying yourself would do the job just fine.

Why does God have to hear multiple prayers to convince him to do something?

David: help for what? The whole goal of it is to ask God for help. If other people do it as well, how's that going to change his mind?

God's Word answers your question. I've read this story countless times through the years, but a couple years back I saw something I had never zeroed in on before. In Mark Chapter 2 Jesus was entering Capernaum. Rumor quickly spread throughout the city that Jesus was there, and so many people gathered together in a house that there was no more room for one more. Jesus preached unto them and they brought people with all manners of sickness to Him. But there was one man, sick of the palsy whose friends were desperate to get to Jesus. Seeing how there was no more room, they lowered him on a stretcher through the roof top made of straw. Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw the love and faith of others, and in verse 5 of Chapter 2 it reads "When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee." and in verse 11 " I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house." Did you hear what Jesus said? When He saw "their" faith..........which means that I or another Christian can stand in the gap for another's healing. Praying is one of the Christian's greatest blessings....but it is also one of our greatest failures.

I think we mostly miss the point of prayer. Prayer doesn't necessarily change our circumstances, but it does change the people who pray. It's the only reason I can see why people would pray about something together. And I believe our attitude should be one of finding out what God wants us to do, not trying to turn his arm.
Prayer isn't a wish list, it's communicating with God.

God wants us to rely on him for all things, Prayers are requestes, when we pray we are trusting and believing that Jesus will intervene and answer our prayer, I can tell you that it is an awesome powerfull feeling when you pray for something and it happens right before your eyes, when you get to actually see it, it is a life changing experience. Jesus can and does work miracles everyday. I have seen them. Jesus wants us to put our total trust in him, Prayer is one of the ways of doing that, its the key that opens the door to our inner man and Jesus Christ. Without Prayer we could not communicate with God on a Spiritual level. And the Bible teaches that you are not going to heaven if you are not a born again Christian, John 3:3, thats very clear, Are you born again, if you died right now and the Holy Bible is true would you go to Heaven? Do you believe the Bible is true, If you do then let me tell you how you can become a born again Christian, first you must be willing to admit that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour, and he is Jesus Christ, He died on that Cross for us, to wash away our sins, And you must believe Jesus Christ arose from the grave that third day, forever opening the door to salvation to all mankind once forever. If you are willing to confess and believe then pray this prayer of faith believing in Jesus with all your heart and soul, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

We believe we are all part of the Body of Christ. A community of believers that pray for each other and support each other during the good times and the bad.

Furthermore, why does anyone pray at all? If god is omniscient, he knows that someone wants something already and would do something about it, without having to be reminded. How do you tell an omnipotent, omniscient god something that it doesn't already know? That is truly laughable.

Wow, you really don't understand about faith, do you? And intercessionary prayer, and lots of other things. The Bible is obviously far too complex for you to understand--oh yes, it helps to have faith and search for what is being said, and that's not your aim. I do really feel sorry for you.

it's like this... if you need some help,, what would you do? of coarse, ask someone or anybody for help.. if you don't get any help, then you won't be able to solve your problem or finish a job.
