Actually, to be ignorant means "not to know". It has nothing to do with belief. People are self-centered and want everyone to believe in their beliefs. Christianity is about living and respecting others, obviously, those Christians are ignorant, as they do not know their own religion. People are loving and respectful and some are not. It has nothing to do with their religion. It has everything to do about "themselves".

It depends - if you are knowledgeable about religion, and then choose to not believe in a god, then you are not ignorant. You have made an informed decision. If you know nothing about religion (any religion at all), and just go around saying you don't believe in god, then that is ignorance.
People of religion often derogate athiests and agnostics due to fear, and sometimes, misplaced love. If you have been raised to believe that your way is the only way, and all others are wrong, there is a fear inside that it may be you who is wrong (that is basic human nature). That fear is a threat to your belief, so now you fear yourself as well as others (you as you're not believing as you should).
The other primary source of fear for the individual in religion is that the individual must perform good works in order to be rewarded. Thus, conversions to the "right god" are good, and it is fear that causes them to spite you when you reject them.
As for misplaced love, some people, because they believe that you will go to hell if you do not subscribe to their beliefs, will try to convert you. Again, fear plays a small part here.

I'm Christian and don't believe you're ignorant because you haven't found God. You're right Christianity is about love and respecting others, but they're human too and can be judgmental. Many Christian religions teach their way or no way. This is why I'm not affiliated with a religion. I believe in Christ and the trinity and practice the teachings of Christ.

You must have a reason for not believing in God.
And by the way he does have a name. There are many Gods but only one true God and his name is Jehovah (exodus 6:2,3). He has been called the Almighty and other things but these are titles and Jehovah is his name.
You should never be abused by anyone for the way you believe. If you have not studied the bible and come to now the true facts then it is hard to say you don't believe.
However, I do not criticize you for your belief. I just think you should cover all avenues before making such a great decision in your life.

I believe in God, and I DO NOT think your ignorant because you don't believe in God.
Now I don't make any false claims to adhere to any one certain faith, however I do believe in the "loving uncondionally and respecting others" aspect, and would consider anyone who did not treat you that way to be misrepresenting their faith; and therefore not actually a Christian as they are claiming to be.
Your right, and they are wrong.

Not ignorant, but foolish.
Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, " There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

No, ignorant would be if you knew nothing of God's existence. Stubborn, closed-hearted and rebellious would be a better reference to an knowing non-believer of God. Yet regardless of your belief, you are a child of God deserving of love and respect. That does not change the stubborn, closed-hearted, rebellious part.

No you are not, it's the ignorant that do believe in the God myth, man himself is God we all come from one source in the spiritual world, and it was there that all things were created, most just haven't realized that yet.
