She can only get pregnant when she's in heat, because this is when she's ovulating. It isn't always obvious when they're in heat - their behaviour can change, and their vulva will be swollen and even drip, sometimes quite a lot. It isn't always noticeable with every dog when she's in heat.
I suggest you get your dog spayed ASAP. It will protect her from pyometra (very common, can be fatal) and mammary, ovarian and cervical cancers, to say nothing of stopping MORE puppies coming in to the world and taking up needed homes. Think about it.

A dog will go through their first heat cycle at 9 mo. After that it is 6 mo. She will be kind of swollen "back there". You can normally tell if a bunch of dogs start hanging around. If she is not in heat, male dogs won't "connect" with her.Hope she isn't. Don't want to sound mean but we really have enough "unplanned" puppies in the world now. Get her fixed as soon as you can. If she is a show dog, I can understand why not but not otherwise. Please do it.

No they can't get pregnant if she is not in heat but if a male is after her then she is in heat her vulva will be bigger you will see blood spots for about 7-10 days but the whole heat cycle will last 21 days from first blood this is the time she can get pregnant

a female dog will only accept the male when she is estrus, so no she cannot get pregnant when not in heat. You will know when she is cause she will spot a bit and swell and she will be licking herself constantly,, and then there is the unmistakable fact that every male dog n the neighborhood will be hanging around.

dogs can not get pregnant when they are not in heat. you can tell when they are on heat because they bleed just like humans. also dogs can have a thing called a silent heat where they dont bleed or some dogs keep themselves really clean. how old is your dog for one? you sound like you should not be breeding a dog at all get your female fixed. when you dont know what your doing you shouldnt be doing it. you can cause they mother and pups to die if you dont know what your doing.

Their bottom side swells up. You'll know. I call my dog baboon *** when she's in heat. As to getting pregnant without being in heat, I'm not sure.

She cannot get pregnant if she isn't in heat. It should be pretty obvious whether she is in heat or not.

If you don't knw this, don't breed dogs. the best you can do is fix her. You need to talk to a vet. If you don't know the basics, don't breed.

It is a possibility. And there may be blood on the carpet. Also, your dog may act a little more aggressive than usual, but really, i kinda exaggerated about the huge behavior change t_t
