Yes I would still have an issue with it. We have laws in America and when they are broken there are consequences to pay. Why should any group of people be able to break the law and then be rewarded for it. I do not believe it is fair. They break the law to get what they want. There are many people in the world who would love to come here and start a new life but because of the mess that the lawbreakers have made with the whole immigration process, then the good law abiding people are having to lose their opportunity to come here. I will never be for any type of amnesty for illegal lawbreakers!
Additional: Sorry Joe but I cannot comprehend what a country would be if you allowed anyone who wanted to come with no immigration laws. It would turn the country into the cesspool of the world. Your question is not logical, hon!

Yes I would. The ones sneaking in here are lower class and breed like it's goin out of style. The long term effect of such people breeding profusely, taking from the govt and not making any real contributions couldnt be good

I have an issue to Presidential pardons.

And I'd have an issue with amnesty for illegal alien criminals just as well.

Same principle.

This would just propagate the problem.

Because if today, every illegal in America was made legal and the borders were left unguarded, tomorrow we would have 20 million more illegals in America.

That's illogical.

That's like saying would you still be against stealing if it wasn't illegal.

We have tens of millions of people in our country illegally, destroying our country, and hypothetical situations that are NOT going to happen is a waste of time.

Yes.

Laws are made to keep order. If we start selective eliminating them to suit our personal needs, then we have anarchy.

Also, who is going to pay for the influx of immigrants who start pouring in? The taxpayers that are here now are strapped now. Add tens of millions more that will not pay taxes and the U.S. will look like Mexico economically. If you honestly think that the illegals that are here now will come forward and claim their citizenship, meaning that they will have to pay taxes for all the benefits they reap, you are hysterically wrong. They have the best of both worlds now. They get 100% of their pay and get 100% of the same benefits that citizens get.

Also, employers would pull every trick in the book to get them to refuse citizenship including firing them so they would not have to give them a raise.

Yes, because we should never let in so many that our schools and services fail our own people.

However, that is a big reason why they weren't legal to begin with. The public will not support that sort of action of law. On the other hand, a corrupt administration can simply elect not to enforce the law we have.

I hold no grudge agasinst the 5 million or so people who took advantage the last Amnesty in '86, and your hypothetical differs from that only in degree.

I would be unhappy with the 'leaders' who decided open borders & massive Amnesty was a good idea, but I wouldn't blame the people who took advantage of that egregious lapse in judgement.

Yes, I'd still have an issue with it. But I'd spend my time finding a way to legally migrate to a 1st world country since, in your scenario, the US would spiral into 3rd world poverty at an incredible rate.
