Twice now, I have prayed for the Lord to set my paths straight and to help me get on the path the Lord had originally set forth for me. Twice, within one week of BOTH of the times I prayed, I lost my job. Both times were because of reasons out of my hands (business shrinking and illness respectively) This seems to be working for me, I feel. Has this happened to anyone else? OR..... can anyone else share a story where you have prayed for something and it dramatically changed your life?

He is answering your prayers, remember he knows what you need before you ask, it sounds like you need to be praying that he will lead you to the job he wants you to have. Unless you have to, don't take another one until God opens the door. Hereing your testimony make me again just wonder how people survive without Christ, I just can't imagine not haveing a Saviour to lean on and trust with everything you have. Jesus is Awesome, and is His Love is Unconditional. Praise the Lord!!!!

I made it my life's passion to go into the FBI, to be an Operator for the HRT. Marine Corps Infantry background, studied Russian and got a degree in International Studies...all to get into this position...effectively taking about 10 years. When Attornery General Gonzalez fired those federal prosecutors the Congress froze the budget for the DOJ, so no hiring was taking place. I was spent. So, I literally lifted it up in prayer. Just said, Lord, if this is not what you want me to do, then take it from me. I would rather do what you would have me do that fight for a life of misery in something I was not created to do. 5 minutes later I get a phone call from someone wanting to recruit me for a position I never applied for. Completely different path opened up, one which I am extremely stoked for. Does this mean the phone call never would have happened? Absolutely not, my heart just would not have been in the right place to accept that position. I can honestly say, I never thought I would be doing this as a career path.

when you are serious about following God, that does not mean that everything will go smoothly on that path- a matter of fact the more I want to trust and ask Him to set my paths straight, I have had, and still am having things happen to me that sometimes I wish wasn't. However to get me on the straight and narrow path, God sometimes takes us through trials and tribulations. However as you continue to follow Him, you will see His hand in your life even with those 2 jobs.

I had similar things happen to me in college. It was one thing after the other keeping me from finishing. So I joined the military and met my best friend who turned out to be my husband. God definitely had a different agenda for me. My job also changed dramatically. I went from being a nutritionist to a respiratory therapist. I have helped to save many lives and make others a lot more comfortable learning to live with terminal illnesses.

Yes, many times. Think of it as a crucible is to gold. Continue to seek Him and trust.

James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Why do you need to pray to make a change in your own life?
What is with Christians putting everything "in God's hands".
To me it's just a way of being lazy and not taking responsibility and or control of your own path. If there were a God, I think that would be really annoying. Change your life yourself. I don't thank God when good things happen for me, but I don't blame God when bad things do. Hypocrites!

Obviously God has something better in store for you.

Be patient and wait on the Lord until He shows you what it is.

Don’t know about Christians,,,
However, for a true believer all hardship is a test from God; surviving life with its most challenging conditions while beholding to your faith is of greatest virtues a human can present to God as evidence to his faith…

The more I pray for my parents, the "worse" their lives get.

I use to be confused, but then I see how God is drawing them to Him, no matter what it takes. If He has to literally break their knees for them to bow before Him, I will praise Him all the more.
