hypothetical situation: all Americans leave the USA for mars, venus etc. and the control of the government is given to illegal mexicans. How long would it be before it just became another poor country? years, months, days etc.

They are not intelligent enough to have a government and a law that works...everything would be corrupt instantly...hmmm, I would give them 6 mths..best!

It'd be prettymuch immediate. You can't just yoink 300 million people out of an economy and expect it to keep humming right along.
While the 20 million illegals in the country would prettymuch have thier choice of really nice homes to live in, the lack of demand would cause real estate prices to plummet, and the many businesses that generate Americas vast GDP (much of it with smoke & mirrors) would be gone, so it'd be a 'poor' country in the monetary economic activity sense.
But, it'd have no shortage of stuff just sitting around for anyone who cared to pick it up.

Never, it would prosper! Undocumented workers are no different then you and me except they had the bad luck to be born in a country where there is no opportunity to make money and help their families.
"Illegal Aliens" are hard workers who love their families and appreciate the opportunity to work in the United States of America.
