This is determined by your state laws. Most states publish a booklet that explains all of the various laws pertaining to hunting in that state. If your state publishes such a booklet, you can most likely find it at any sporting goods store that sells guns and hunting gear and usually it is free. Pick one up and see what your state requires. Even if it is not absolutely required, it is a very good idea to wear it for your own safety.

Here in Washington, only have to wear orange during modern rifle season, when the area you are hunting is open to firearms.
Our hunting regs are pretty decent about listing areas where different hunting methods overlap- i.e. late deer muzzleloader season overlaps archer in unit 667, for instance.

I don't know about your state, but in OK you don't have to except bow hunting during black powder and then its either a hat or a garment.
Check with your Dept. of Wildlife. They can tell you all about what you want to know. You should be able to look them up on the net.

In Georgia you don't have to, but that's only in archery season. If you bow hunt during gun season than you have to wear orange and can shoot either sex deer.

I suppose you could wear a deer skin, but that kind of defeats the purpose of staying alive.
The animals cannot see your vest, but other hunters can. Wear the vest.

I suggest that you do. It lets people know you are out there hunting. Check with your local laws to be sure. But its a safety measure though, you don't want anyone shooting at you!
