True words of wisdom, my friend. True, valuable, words of wisdom, yet those words won't get the kind of respect the deserve here.
This is a sad place, full of sad, stupid people, who believe that the only thing that matters is that you find salvation through the lord and saviour Jesus Christ, and if you don't then they want nothing to do with you.

The different faiths are have realised they have a common enemy in atheism, and that has led to a certain amount of interfaith dialogue - at least amongst the liberals, and even some conservatives. The previous Pope received some flak from diehard Catholics for taking part in an interfaith service. But that does not mean the different religions are about to merge into one amorphous mass, with a little bit of Christianity here, a little bit of Buddhism there, and a little bit of Judaism somewhere else. Only atheists think of ecumenism in those terms.

At the risk of being bombarded with thumbs down, might I, as a Christian, disagree? If Jesus said it didn't matter who we worshipped, that there were many roads to God, then he wouldn't have had to lay his life down, would he? What would have been the point?
Even with the best will in the world, with people helping each other, there still would be no hope for sinful humanity. It is not possible for humanity to redeem itself. Jesus told us that there is an unseen, invisible ruler of this world - the arch-enemy of all that is pure and good and true and honest. It is this enemy he came to defeat, and Jesus warned us that he appears like an angel of light, in order to deceive the unwary. One of his most powerful tools is to persuade sophisticated, intelligent and proud people that he simply does not exist. Another way is to persuade people that there are many paths that lead to God. Seems to be working.
Just a wee comment to Dr Kemp - just because we disagree, please don't think we don't want to have anything to do with you. At least, any true Christian would care, and care deeply about your self.

God is One, known by different names and understood differently by different cultures. Humanity is also one, one soul in many bodies, when it functions at its highest. Failure to recognize the oneness of God and our oneness with others often results in destructive, dis-unifying behaviors to protect an illusion of exclusivity. Understanding the underlying oneness will enable us to move beyond clan, tribe, nation mentality and function as one planet, something we desperately need to do.

Even with all the help from others in the world, we are doomed. All fall short of the glory of God.
Only by grace through faith is redemption found.

If they are all the same, be brave and ask Jews and Muslims to accept that Jesus died on the cross for their sins.
