I nailed my job interview last week and I was really surprised they turned me down. Is it unethical for me to ask the reason why?

It is perfectly reasonable. Just make sure you ask politely, making it clear that you need to know in order to improve professionally. You might even ask for advice so the interviewers feel flattered. What is the worst that can happen?

I liked the first person's answer. But be prepared that you might never even get a reply. But no harm in asking. In interviews, there is a lot we cannot control. Like, other candidates experience or fit, or the company's culture where another might fit better, or simply what's the vibe they get from you based on their own perceptions. It's like going on a date. You can be your best, but it doesn't guarantee you will be selected. Dont sweat it one bit....keep learning, keep improving, keep practicing and you will soon land a great job! The one that's in ur destiny!

The only answer you'll probably get is, " we found a candidate who is more qualified." They are under no obligation to tell you.

You have every right, but they probably just found someone they liked better.
