A young woman wanted ideas for a "Personal Progress" faith project. I suggested reading and memorizing Galatians- especially 1:6-9. What could be wrong with that? I mean, you do read and believe the Bible don't you?

Dritzz- since when do you consider Bible verses hate. I had no idea that the Mormons considered the Bible hate now.

I wrote exactly what I said in this post.

Your original suggestion was good, as it was. 3 things come to mind:

1) If you proffered this suggestion in the wrong spirit, then you would be amiss for doing so.

2) This would, indeed, be a personal progress in faith, as it would aid in ensuring that one does not fall for a presentation of the Gospel that is false. This could be what you were trying to infer.

3) This section of Scripture would offend someone who belongs to a sect that perverts Scripture, or presents a book of Scripture that stands in contrast to the Gospel, whether they be Mormon or Jehovah's Witness. To them, this would be an insult and sufficient reason to report your answer.

because of the fact asking a thank you to alter into Christian isn't some thing you ought to truly ask, till you're a troll and attempting to sound like an fool. So the generalization has already been made that if all of us asks that, they're trolling and as a result, being deleted even whether it quite is a severe question. as properly, trolls probable deleted it. that is community monitored. even nevertheless, the clarification I say it is not some thing you will possibly opt to ask is by the fact, once you're that severe approximately some thing, bypass to a christian church and ask there. they'll tell you the perfect component. And as for questions that degrade, i've got seen many questions that degrade atheists, christians, varied different religions, intercourse (woman or male), age, and a ton of political questions that are actually not in all likelihood questions and are only asked to vent anger or advise issues. Christians are actually not an exception to this rule, so do no longer single your self out. the reality it, there are only too many to delete! .

I'm not a Mormon, but I have talked with enough of them here to know they find the following verse offensive.
Ga 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
EBD NTB SCO TTT
Ga 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Well, I don't know why someone choose to delete that. But it wouldn't qualify as a personal progress faith project. The value projects have to take at least 10 hours to complete. Memorizing one scripture would not do that.

And no, the bible doesn't spew hate. Your interpretation does though.

I love Pauls lesson in Galatians. It's just too bad you didn't include more verses. You really short change everyone. He does go on to tell us that revelation is the basis for his faith, and not teaching by the philosophies of men. The more he writes, the more it sounds like Joseph Smith.

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Actually that is a great scripture. It shows just how quickly the people of the church fell into apostasy after the of Christ, and it reminds us that we should be watchful not to let others deceive us. It also lays the foundation for the need of a restoration. Good job.

First, I had nothing to do with it getting deleted. I don't think I even gave it a thumbs down. I think it would be a good idea for more people to read and study those verses to be able to give the real explanation as to what it means when asked by critics such as yourself.

i'm not sure what gal 1:6-9 has to say is exactly
a "personal progress" thing...

so i am curious what you wrote the first time i suspect
the verse was not used for "personal progress" in your
first posting...

i'm not a mormon nor a christian but offending others even by trying to cheat on the rules is not a religious act , try being nice to others they won't report you then. don't manipulate the bible or any other scriptures to insult others . i've seen many who do that and complain that it's not fair that they get reported, i think not enough people are being reported because there are many trolls out there and i'm not saying you are one of them , but please put yourself in the shoes of the person you are talking about next time because when a person is hasty and is out to prove thet he/she is right they offend others at times and it's not nice.

Well, I would say it's all about intent. In your heart, I think you know why you posted that particular verse and what you were insinuating.

If the Mormon posters misunderstood your meaning, then I'm very sorry. If they didn't, why don't you focus on 'thou shalt not Judge".
