chocolate makes your mouth really dry and milk is cold and creamy so it moistens it. Milk with peanut butter is also really good for the same reason

Milk seems to cut the rich taste of the chocolate and keeps some people from getting sick after eating it.

Chocolate melts at a certain temperature like around 98 degrees. Thats why they say melt in your mouth not in your hand. Milk just tastes better with it than orange juice

because chocolate can sometimes be really thick and sticky so a liquid (the milk) can get rid of the thickness and the sticky taste in your mouth.
