If I have lockjaw and then get the vaccine will it go away? just wondering?

If you already had lockjaw, you'd need hospitalization, respiratory support, antibiotics, antitoxin, antibodies and immune globulin.

According to the New York State Department of Health, there's an immunoglobulin series you can get if you get lockjaw, or tetnus, and haven't had the vaccine. It's a three series shot. I imagine that what it does is lessen the intensity of the illness, much like the Hep-A immunoglobulin.

no - if you already have it, the vaccine will not help (unless you get the vaccine in the first 24 hours of contracting the illness).

I wouldn't know about that, but it seems to me kinda like shutting the barn door after the cown dun got out.
