Perhaps she has a friend who's Daddy has a girlfriend, and wanted correlated you to being Daddy's girlfriend - it's quite a complement!!
Still his girlfriend after 22 years!

Kids do ask questions like that. She may not have a concept of marriage yet so she thinks in young terms like that

i took my then 6-7 yr old girl to school and just as i finished lying to the teacher that she was poorly and couldnt go to school the day before,my daughter blurted out loud,"i wasnt poorly"! and smiled at the teacher and said "we had a real nice day at seaside" (i thought i was incapable of blushing)

When my daughter was 3 years old, one day she told me that one time her dad had taken her out to eat and then they went to Daddy's girlfriend's house and his girlfriend kissed him and called him Honey. I confronted my husband he denied everything. My daughter kept talking about his girlfriend and how she kissed him. One day we went to my in-laws for something and when my daughter saw my mother-in-law, she told me, "Oh no. There's Daddy's girlfriend." I told her that's not his girlfriend, that's his mother. Another time she told me my friend was here to see me. When I walked in the room, my brother was sitting on the couch.
LOL! She had no concept of who was who.
