Chloroquine is eliminated very slowly from the body. After treatment with it, Chloroquine can be traced up in the blood IF specific test for its level is done. Chloroquine level may be analyzed in whole blood or plasma. Its concentrations in whole blood are five to ten times higher than those in plasma.

When doing SPECIFIC DRUG TESTS, structurally related compounds including Chloroquine (at a level of 50,000 ng/ml or greater) can produce POSITIVE results with the specified drug screen assays.
