If you are color blind, is it true for you?

2007-11-16 09:56:17 · answer #1 · answered by BrotherMichael 6 · 1 0

Well, it is not simply that the grass is a certain color, but also that the color green has a specific wavelength. If it didn't have that wavelength it wouldn't be green. Of course, this is true 99.99 repeating percent of the time, but there could be a case that we can't comprehend that proves it wrong. After all, even if it is objective for all humans, it may be relative to some other being. We can't prove truth, but science allows us to come as close to infinity as we can understand.

It is true that most grass reflect predominately a given wavelength of light. Informally we ca say that grass is green as we can confirm it through several methods.

Not really. In June, July, and August in central Texas, the grass here is "yeller" or brown.

Besides, the blade itself is not green. It is the chlorophyl in the grass that is green.

So the sentence "Grass is green" is only partly true.

"green" is a property, a color, the perception of which is evoked by light having a spectrum dominated by energy with a wavelength of roughly 520–570 nm. We call many things green. Grass itself is not uniformly green.

Logically, if grass is green, it doesn't matter if we know it or not - that is the truth. Our knowledge of the truth (or ignorance of it) does not determine the truth. "The truth" is independent of our knowledge of it.

It is a nice start. Of corse, the grass is gray here now.

It is good to look and see.

Time to go for the week. Be well.

The reality of God is a perception unattainable to anyone except the elect. Spirituality by definition (as it pertains to man) is a mental disposition. One can only receive such when it is give by God. The Truth is more than the world can handle.

The truth is the truth whether or not anyone knows it or agrees to it. We can all agree that it is in fact red. Does not make it true.
