I think they are either hives or a heat rash. Not very severe and I have no idea what the cause was. Possibly cold weather.

I have 6 blotches on my chin (about 4mm diameter). That's it. So it's not bad enough to take medication for. Just wondering how long will it last, approximately, if I just leave them?

I've had them for 2 days now.

They also 'disappear' when I am asleep (I wake up with a clear face) and then reappear in the next hour or so, only to last all day.

Oh - ok thanks Sue. Can't be hives then.

They don't itch but they burn. It's probably some sort of a heat rash.

How long should I leave it before seeking medical attention? A week? (just because where I live it's not very easy to get to a doctors surgery)

Anything I can do to calm it down in the meantime?
