Being as organized as the catholics would take a thousand or more years. Being as organized as fundies is just a matter of operating a few storefront ministries until you have enough money for tv time. Then start making a lot of outlandish statements to get fee publicity in the print media. It's pretty easy the way they operate for a fundie to become a national figure. Basically, you just need a big mouth. I can't see atheists performing comparably. Too much self-respect,I guess.

I highly doubt that any Atheists would condone having a weekly meeting to discuss their Atheism. Why would they do that, and add fuel to the flame that Christians love to carry about Atheism being a religion?

Pantheists? Go right ahead.

There are Pantheistic and Panentheistic churches that have existed for thousands of years....you just gotta get out more. I know that my church regularly has services that envolve Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Sufi Islamic teachings, Native American Spiritualism, taoism, and Buddhism. Once you stop hating other religions or holding up egotictical ideas of the superiority of your own faith, the common unity found in all faiths is very beautiful. The churches are out there, but you have to look for them. As we don't profess the superiority of our own faith system, conversion and evangelism is kind of a moot point. If you want it, it's there---you've just got to look for it yourself.

I'm already distancing myself from the word atheist. Don't push me farther. There's always some whackadoo who wants to make it a religion. The American Atheists group has all but made me abandon the word for something else.

I swear if I see that absurd little atheist symbol they created one more time I'll have to become something else.

Would be damned difficult because atheists and pantheists question more, makes it harder to get things done.

Christians only come together so they can worship a non-existent god. Atheists believe in no one, so there's really no point in us coming together. I mean, what would we do?

atheists dont need to be organized because there is nothing to organize. there is only so many ways you can organize "we dont believe in god"

If you include the ability to THINK clearly, reject MYTH, and avoid hatred inspired by "sacred text" I think we are WAY more organized.
