Worldwide, Christians believe that the bible is the word of god. But now numerous books (Misquoting Jesus is one) prove that the bible is vastly falsified and made up by translators and scribes. But Christians still believe it. Why?

You say its because its the word of god, but written by man. So what parts do you follow and what parts do you ignore? Why? You say its the word of god, but most of it can be ignored (Old Testament)?

Why would you base your beliefs, your life, your heart and soul on something that has been vastly falsified? Desperation? Innate need?

No, I'm not sure. As I have said (continuously), the Bible was written by humans (human males, in fact). Whether or not it has any basis in historical fact, humans have a tendency to fabricate, obfuscate, manipulate, and outright lie to support their own ends.

The Bible is a collection of many books written by numerous people from kings to tax collectors to disciples to skeptics. This proves it is not biased unlike the Qua ran. The amazing fact is that these books are written hundreds and thousands of years before each other yet they connect perfectly!

I dont ignore anything in the Bible, because it is inspired by God, written by men.

Misquoting Jesus has been de-bunked. It is a biased book written by an angry atheist. The Bible has withstand for hundreds of years in the face of skeptics and atheists. It has not been proven "made up by translators" and scribes nor is it vastly falsified.

Give me some links to where you get these information and I will give you ten times as much resources to debunk them.

Well, unlike those superstitions you previously mentioned. The Bible actually works! It makes sense too, when you base your claims on experience and thorough research rather than mere assumption. I mean; isn't that what science is about?

The Bible's a 'learn by example' guide to love and faith, if you will. What better guidance can one have than by that (Testimony) of which comes from the Creator of Heaven and earth Himself? Hence, the word Testament. The Bible is a book of God’s love. It extols upon us God's loving character.

Unlike the rich and greedy politicians and ruling class of this world of who’s only purpose is to feed their own selfish desires at your expense. God has a real purpose for you.

This is why Jesus said "ALL the law and the prophets" hang on two loving commandments (love God deeply as He loves you and love your fellow man and womankind as you would love yourself). Because of God's awesome love for us, Jesus brought forth the life giving substance of our salvation and paid the debt of our sins even at the cost of His own life. That's the power of God's love. And, NO theory can top that.

Evolution doesn't teach us to value life. Science can't teach us moral responsibility. An i-pod can't extend gratitude. HDTV won't give you eternal life. Technology will not bring you peace and happiness. Democracy doesn't grant freedom. But, God can. Because, God is love.

If only this world could understand such a priceless and simple concept.

For most Christians, the Bible is not the literal word of God, but a testimony of the People of God's faith, that contains God's message for humanity.

Actually, the Word of God is not a book, but a person, the person of Jesus Christ. Christians regar Jesus asthe Word of God made flesh. That is called the Mistery of Incarnation.

For Christians, the Old Testament (God's Law) should be read in the light of the New (God's Grace).

The bible is nothing but a grouping of passages from various ancient people who never had any actual proof that any of that stuff was real. In fact, the bible is really the only thing that says god exists. There really isn't any actual proof that god does exist.

Dear Scuba Dude!
The Bible is a poetic, Hebrew to Greek to English translation, of several books of Hebrew history, ancient Hebrew law, philosophy, and religion
Poetry by it’s vary design is open to each person’s interruption… and with each translation and rewording the meaning changes.
The Bible is neither the “word of God” nor of Jesus, As neither has ever taken it upon themselves to record there thoughts for posterity, but left it to others to record.
Hugs,
PennyAnn

What's so wonderful about the bible is that it was written by not just one person but several, ranging from kings,to shepherds. It was all inspired by God and is living and active, sharper than a two edged sword. The word of God will never change. It's mans interpretation that changes its meaning.

The devil and his cronies only attack the word of God is good proof. The other proof is the prophesy that has come true. Some are right on the brink of being fulfilled as I type. The very best proof is that God says it's truth.
By-the-way proof wouldn't make anyone believe
in the first place.

absolutely. the unfaithful and disbelievers will not be able to understand why. so unfortunately for you, there is no need to explain ourselves.

I can say that there are two paths in life. A path of the earthly and then there is the path of the spiritual. and eventually we will have to decide which path we are on.
