it probably depends on the hospital's position on tattoos. some have strict policies regarding them and some have no policy at all. i work at a hospital and work with quite a few people who have visible tattoos (mostly on the arms but some with neck tattoos too) and our hospital doesn't mind as long as they are not offensive. however your patients may look upon you in a lesser light. my husband is hesitant to get visible tattoos because he works with the general public and many people tend to look down on people with visible tattoos (he's a fireman). it really depends on how committed you are to the tattoos you have or want to have and whether it is worth not getting a job because of them. however, most hospitals are relatively FREEEEZING so it wouldn't be difficult to wear long sleeves thruout the year.

I work for a dermatology office and everyone in this office has at least one tattoo. Most of the employees can cover them in scrubs, but I have one on my arm that is visible most months out of the year. I do not find that it is looked down upon at all, though it is a conversation starter from time to time. Wrists, arms, ankles etc I think are pretty acceptable this day and age....keep them off your face and throat to remain more professional.

If you want a wrist tattoo then get it done, very easy to cover with a watch. If you want a facial tattoo or a full sleeve tattoo then you probably wouldn't get the job.

Believe me you hardly notice a inner wrist tattoo as long as it's not massive and not really colorful. How often do you see someones inner wrist?? When you type, write, drive, hand someone something or even pay for something in a shop you don't expose your inner wrist.

I've known people with wrist tattoos, they never covered them and it took 5-6 weeks before anyone noticed they had them. If you ask people with wrist tattoos how visable a wrist tattoo is they'll tell you the truth... No one really notices them!!!

Visible tattoos are looked down upon by narrow-minded people everywhere.

visible tattoos are looked down on in any proffession im in the childcare industry 2 of my attoos are visible and i think its about the only industry where it doesnt matter so much. i have been rejected from jobs because of them and that was in the beauty field my best bet would be to get them where u can cover them especially if u wanna be a nurse.

I want to be a nurse, as long as the tattoos aren't visable you should be ok.

I recently had my moving and handling training, and almost all student nurses had tattoos...
