yes, of course. Juice is actaully the number one cause in diahrea in toddlers.
The average amount of juice for a child under the age of 1 year old should be no more than 4 ounces a day. That doesnt sound like much, but if you mix it half way with water, it goes a long way.
For a child your age (i have a son the ame age!), the average amount of juice he should have a day is no more than 10 ounces. Keep in mind that mixing it with water can make it last longer.
A good type of juice for your little guy to drink when he has diahrea, is White Grape Juice! This can actually help relieve diahrea.
Good luck, and hope you little guy gets better!

A child this age should have no more than 4 ounces of juice a day and this should be mixed with 4 ounces of water. Any more than that is very hard on their intestines. Diarrhea is a sign that his intestines are in distress from too much juice! In order for the intestines to get back to normal, you must give him no juice until his diarrhea has subsided. After that, you must limit him to 4 ounces a day so this doesn't happen again and impair his health. In the mean time, you can keep him hydrated with lots of water and pedialyte. He should also drink 24-32 ounces of milk a day.

Yes, it could. That's why Pediacare makes a special juice to help reduce the effect of diaharea. Becareful about giving too much juice b/c it'll give them a false security of being full and they won't get the nutrients they need in that stage to grow.

Yes, and for several reasons. Sorbitol is chemically classed as a sugar alcohol, but is used as a sweetener and is present in many juices. It is a laxative and can cause diarrhea.
Toddlers who are "juicaholics" get less fiber and less fat in their diet. Both, especially fiber, are needed to produce a firmer stool.
You would do well to drastically reduce the amount of juice in your son's diet. It will not be an easy habit to break. Other answerers have made some decent suggestions.

Yes it could. It is not recommended for kids to have more than 4 ounces of juice a day. If he is demanding more, try watering it down and still keeping it within the 4 oz range. Even thought it may be fruit juice, it has lots of sugars in it and is not as good for you as eating the actual fruit.

most definitely!
I have always diluted my son's juice (about 25% juice to 75%water) and he doesn't know the difference. On the rare occassions when he has had straight juice (like a juice box at grandma's house) he ALWAYS, 100% of the time has diarrhea!! It's all the sugar.
If I were you, I would try diluting your son's juice! :)

Yes, definite possiblility... Try slowing down on giving him so much.. or >> maybe you can give him half cup juice and water it down with the other half water..
It could defintitly mean that the juice is too strong for him too. So watering it down will help..
Hope this helps
