I have a hearing date of Jan. 7 for my DUI charge. I'm certainly going to be found guilty and have to do 24 hours in jail immediately following the case. That is the day of the college football national title game, and if WVU makes it, it would ruin my life to not be in New Orleans with my family for the game. It's the one thing me and my brothers and dad do every year together. Is there any way that I could petition to the court to allow me to plead guilty or no contest early, and just sign off on it and get my jail time and hearing done for in mid December so I wouldn't have to miss the game? State of WV, by the way...

Get an attorney now, and have him request a continuance.

Watch and learn:

First of all you are more worried about a game than going to jail

second get a REAL lawyer

Third usually 1st times they dont' take you to jail I had a DUI and had court Oct 13th and Now I have court again for my
sentence and I'm not going to JAIL!!
Just probation and commuity service..BC of my lawyer..

Four get a good lawyer-and whatever you do plea what you don't want to show up on your record. If you plea Guilty than it will show up on your driving record and not guilty and you are found NOT like I was..than it disappears..like nothing happen.

but is trial and longer process

and don't drive like that again ok

bye

Go to the court EARLY in the morning and see the clerk and ask her if you can see a judge today for your case. It shouldn't be a problem. You can call the clerk and find out also, but you still have to go early on the day you want to see the judge and see the clerk.

I doubt it, but you could very likely get an adjournment and do it after the big game.

Call the court and/or get an attorney.

Call an attorney to get the correct answer for your area. It will not cost you anything to ask, and you may need him/her for the hearing if they do let you move it up. Good luck, and please do not drink and drive.

No, you have to do it on the court date.
