starting on c in the staff (3rd space)
c
up to e
up to g
up to c
down to g
up to c

all open valves.

holding down 1+3 changes the key and lowers it to playable range of:

starting on g in the staff (1+3)
g
up to b
up to d
up to g
down to d
up to g

every possible valve combination will work the same way - just changes the key

another way to think of this is in scale steps. Pick a key and play I, III, V, VIII, V, VIII (1,3,5,8,5,8)

with 1+2 it would start on a in the staff and be a c# e a e a
with 1 it would start on Bb in the staff and be Bb D F Bb F Bb
etc...
