First off, as for the person who responded with saying that they are "just strings that hold them in" they obviously don't know anything about teeth. Yes baby teeth start out having roots when they first come in and the reason why the majority of the time you only see the top part (the crown) and no roots is because when the tooth is ready to fall out on it's own it's because the "adult tooth" is pushing it's way in and slowly breaking down the root of the baby tooth leaving it with very small or no roots at all by the time it comes out.
In your son's case the adult tooth did not travel in the same path of the baby tooth, which in turn did not have that opportunity to break down those roots, causing the roots to remain, as you see with his front tooth. It sounds, however, that his teeth may not be aligned correctly and should get checked out by your dentist to find out if ortho is necessary. Having an uneven bite can cause many problems in the future and it's best to get them taken care of in the early developmental stages while the teeth are easily fixable. Hope he's doing ok. :) Take care.

Was the tooth loose???

Usually the roots on baby teeth resorb when they're ready to come out... t's from the adult tooth pushing it's way in.

No, whilst i grew to become into 6 that comparable component befell to me, and that i merely permit it advance in in the back of my different teeth. finally my toddler teeth got here out, yet now that I even have braces, that could be somewhat a soreness to repair, yet my tooth are merely approximately immediately now. So i'd merely say bypass away it on my own and permit nature take its course.

Actually, baby teeth don't have roots...just strings that hold them in. It's quite normal.
