With your experience different companies may call you an Industrial, Manufacturing, Process, Mechanical or Quality Engineer. (And that is WITHOUT changing the duties or job description. I see your experience as a big positive to your employ-ability.

It absolutely is, IF you are in the right industry/ area!
It relates closely with mechanical engineering but again, dependent on what industry.
The BEST industry for industrial/mechanical engineers right now is Biotechnology/Pharmaceuticals.
East Coast, specifically The Northeast (Cambridge MA) is the place... starting out with a bachelors in an industrial engineering postion, you are talking around 50K!

i'm doing mechanica engineering and i think they are 2 very diff fields. mech eng is the ground base for nearly all engineering fields, includin civil, chemical, environmental, biomedical, etc. its a piece of everything and thats why i find it great because it has SO much potential. industrial refers more to OPTIMIZING the way something works. such as a business firm, how to put types of people together or apart to make the business run faster or more efficiently.it's really more about engineering parts and pieces of both groups, individuals, machinery, and sometimes materials so that they can function at their maximum.
hope this helps...
