I don't like talking to stupid people because the people close to you are who you are and like, so I don't want to be a retard
I don't mean like mentally disabled, I mean like people that don't do their homework and always complain without trying to change anything. Or like, people that copy my homework and don't say thank you.
Do you think Buddha would approve? Or would it be better if I just told them straight up that I don't like them because they're retards since then I wouldn't be backstabbing or ditching right?

actually no, I have friends that are smarter than me. I meant people that are lazy and don't want to change their ways and are rude. Being rude is stupid to me.

Buddha Himself, separated from the common man for the solitude to meditate and become enlightened. Buddha was wise. He knew that we are who we associate with.
We are the average of the five people whom we associate with most. I read that in Jack Canfeild's, "The Success Principles" .
According to Vedic scriptures, BAD association is the cause of down fall, and good association is the cause of upliftment.
But it's NOT just the people we associate with that can bring us glory or degradation. It is also the MEDIA, and propaganda that we associate with that can change us.
*BOOKS
**T.V.
*Radio
**Magazines
etc
2 examples-
BAD: If we want to be poor, keep poor company. If you want to do drugs, find a drug addict.
GOOD: If we want to be wealthy find people who are wealthy, and you will become more wealthy. If you want to be physically fit, make friends with fit people. Go to the gym together!
Even if we talk for a while with someone who has an accent, we will start to have that accent!!! If we hang with bad people, we will start to dress and talk like them, just to impress them.
HOWEVER, IF you are STRONG. I mean, if you are a LEADER. Then you can be GOOD association for others.
But if they don't fallow you, if they don't find your path pleasing, then WALK ON AHEAD. DON'T let anyone keep you back!
This is not bad Karma, because you chose a path and they didn't want to fallow, that's THEIR bad karma!
All the Successful people know about, glorify, and practice GOOD association!
edit: When Buddha went to meditate, many people fallowed Him, and He didn't mind. He helped many people of coarse!
Find people whose qualities you admire and associate with them! Find people who are successful at what you want to do and connect the dots!

have you ever thought you were made this smart so you could help others ...the thing most people miss is the fact that God creates opportunities for people by giving them situations to behave in.
example .
there was a man who was a big believer in God until his 1st born son was born mentally retarded the man was so upset because he couldn't understand why God created this boy
then one day he and his son were at the park and his son wanted to play baseball with the boys at the diamond.
he asked and the team at bat said "sure he can play ...we are one man short anyway" (they all knew the boy was disabled.) the boy went up to bat ...the pitch ....swing ...strike 1
one of the players went up to the boy and helped him hold the bat ....pitch ....swing...strike 2
the boy's father looked up a saw the score was 10-8 for the other team ....the bottom of the 9th and 2 out and they had a man on 2nd and a man on third. He told them he understood if they wanted someone else at bat. the tean insisted his boy stay at bat
pitch....swing hit ...not a good one but a hit.
the ball went to the short stop between 2nd and 3rd. he took the ball and threw it 40 feet in the air over the 1st baseman.
the boy ran past 1st and kept running out field until a team player showed him the way around the bases and ran with him. the right out fielder got the ball and threw it out in to center field by this time 1 man crossed home base .
the boy went to 2nd. the center fielder threw the ball 30 feet over the 2nd baseman and the boy took off for 3rd.
another man crossed home . the game was tied.
the boy reached 3rd and the ball went sailing over the 3rd baseman's head . the boy ran for home base . you could hear everyone cheering him on . the ball went sailing over the back-catcher's head about 20 feet in the air . the boy crossed home plate and won the game ....everyone ran over and hoisted the boy up on their shoulders and carried him around the bases . the smile on that boy's face was the biggest his now sobbing father had ever seen .
and this incident showed the father that God made his son to give everyone a chance to be good God loving people

I don't know a lot about Buddha, but I think just staying away from them is better then saying mean things to them.

You don't really have to talk to them. Just be nice and say hi to them. Its important to keep your own special circle of friends (people you can relate to). You can't be friends with everyone. Its not bad karma.

Avoiding stupid people sounds like GOOD karma to me - there's no rule that other people are entitled to waste your time - you decide who you want to associate with, provided that they're willing to associate with you.

Through experience, you'll come across those who are smarter than you and then your pride will get knocked down a little and meaningless issues like this won't bother you so much.

I would be straight up about it, but that's just me.
This would include people who habitually use "like" as an interjection.
