I'd like to cut hair more as a hobby than anything so I've bought a book on the subject. I'm just curious whether anyone else has done the same.

If you're meant to cut hair you'll know it.
I do my own hair, but i never read up on it.
I knew what i wanted, and i knew all the right ways to do it.
I would say go to hair school, thats actually my next step.

I find if you can take the right tools, and do your own hair and get the back right without being able to see when youre doing it, you're meant for hair.
Thats how i figured out i was going to do hair over tattooing.

Reading a book does help but you need to go on a cutting course as well.

Not through a book but I learnt the 'gherkin' on celebrity scissor hands. Tried it today and my hair looks much better.
