Ok my dad is a truck driver he comes home every day and sleeps and we only get to see him on the weekends, but he got off tonight and my mom wanted to go out for dinner just the family, but this is what he says to her "where staying here and eating. are you done talking" exact words, and he always has dinner at home every night and every night its meat. dont you think thats rude.

maybe your dad is tired from working all day everyday and he wants to stay home a relax. its not rude that he wants to stay home. but it is rude the way he talks to your mother. your mom could make him something and take the rest of the family out for dinner.

The daily life of a truck driver is a life full of stress and tension starting from the time he starts the truck engine.He has to remain alert all the time, bear the monotonous sound of the engine,cover known or unknown tracks.hurdles, road blocks,changing weather,bad drivers, police, con men,inferior quality food,etc.etc.You may accompany your Dad for one day to understand his life as a truck driver. Thereafter, you will not even think that your Dad is rude.

If I were your mom, I would have told the other kids to get their coats and meet at the car.
Then I would have placed a frozen TV dinner in front of the husband, not say a word, and walk out the house to go get dinner.

yeah its rude. But i think he is tired and stressed out. He need rest, being a truck driver. Maybe yall can sit with him, give him a massage or talk with him and ask him how his day went. Ask him if you can help in anything or whats the reason he doesn't want to go out. Perhaps planning will help. But hey just ideas of mine. don't take my word for it. Goodluck!

Yeah, it seems kind of rude. I understand that he is tired from driving so much but when he is home with the family then he should participate in planned activities and not expect everyone to stay home because that is what he wants.

yes it seems a little rude, but think about your dads life on the road, hes constantly moving and traveling and probally eats out everyday , he probally wants some quiet time at home with a home cooked meal.
