i think if it's for the benefit of others, it's okay, like if your protecting someone from something they don't need to know about or get involved in it's okay, but if it's for your benefit, no, not good, judgement is a big factor to wether or not you should lie or not, like if your friend asks if her hair looks bad, and it does, tell her, she trusts you, but if she asks if the cute guy over there is checking her out, go ahead tell her what she wants to hear if it gives her a bit of a confidence boost, what you don't know can't hurt you i always say

Sometimes it's not only OK, but necessary.

I mean, does it help to tell my employee that I think she is an incompetent twit? No. I just smile and tell her to do the same thing over and over again.

Should a person tell the person in the dressing room in a retail store that they are too misshaped to wear a dress like that, or just smile and say "Red just isn't your color, here, try the black dress, it will flow on you better."
