I usually take my exgirlfriend's advice on things because we're bestfriends and she's nothing but honest with me and I usually find she's right with alot of things but today for PE I'd packed long shorts accidently thinking they were jogging bottoms and I had to walk around at break in them and my exgirlfriend says she thinks my legs are too hairy and that I should either shave them or trim them, now I'd usually follow this advice but guys don't shave their legs do they? I reckon I'd be ok trimming them but shaving them?

Don't do it! First of all - never do anything at someone else's suggestion that you have to stop and think about. Next, hair has a tendency to split when you shave; so the one hair turns into 2, 3 or 4. Now you seem to have more/thicker hair than before, thus a lifetime of shaving. Also, you may get cuts, razor burn, ingrown hairs, etc. making your legs look even less appealing. Not to mention a guy having smooth legs isn't natural - it may gross people out or make them think you're gay (which is o.k. as long as that's the impression you want to make, whatever floats your boat). Anyways, men are hairy. And if you're just worried about attracting someone with your looks - it's better to just be who you are. I mean can you imagine falling in love with someone... getting married... and having to secretly shave for the rest of your life?! What if you got old or sick or handicapped and couldn't keep it up and then all of a sudden your baby skin legs start sprouting what your wife thought was disgusting hairs?

Your ex maybe a lovely girl who only wants the best for you, but she's not doing the best for you. If she feels that you and her have no future as partners, she should stay out of your life and your choices and give you a chance to get over her. She is sending you mixed messages, like "I don't want to go out with you" and on the other hand "shave your legs cos that's what I like to see." If she hadn't said anything about 'your' legs and you'd heard that one of your mates was shaving his legs for his girlfriend, what would you have thought : 1) He's a prat under the thumb or : 2) I must start shaving my legs.
You need to distance yourself from your exgirlfriend for a while. If she does really care for you as a friend, she'll understand about you not seeing as much of her for a while and if she doesn't understand you'll have to face that she's not mature enough to be a true friend.
Love is not faultless, she's got faults and you still love her, which is good for you. You know naturally about giving and caring.
She's chosen not to be with you, but she's still worried how your legs look. You see this as her still caring, but if you think about it and if she 'is' caring, she's caring about the silliest thing in a relationship, appearance. She should be caring about the important things like enjoying similar things, having a plan for the future and making each other happy.
Well I've yammered on long enough. 1 last thought, if this leg shaving is important enough now, it'll still be important to you at New Year. If that's the case and you do still want to shave or trim your legs, make a date with yourself to do it on 01/01/08. Try this, please. Even a small amount of time can make a hell of a difference about how you feel about important and trivial things, cos you're learning all the time even if you don't realise it.

Do not shave them. Hairy legs are a masculine quality. That's a good thing in a guy. I would be completely weirded out if a guy shaved his legs. You'r 15, you're on your way to becoming a man, and body hair is part of that. Why turn back the clock and make your legs look like they did in grade school? Or worse--like girl's legs?
Honestly, she may have said it just to see if you'd actually do it so she and her friends can have a laugh. Girls at that age are like that. Don't do it.

Mate she's 12. Its really not important what she thinks of your body hair, I mean who is she comparing you to anyway, in order for her to judge your legs as hairy, forget her opinion. I personally would not advise any growing boy to shave his legs, is she gonna back you up when everyone finds out you shave your legs like a girl, doubt it. Most humans have hairy legs, most women shave, most men don’t. Pick your side

Dude, she's gaming you so you'll keep doing what she wants.
Yes, many guys trim their legs, others do shave.
If you start shaving your legs, you are opening your self to be called gay by guys who look for excuses to be mean &/or violent. if you are okay with it & you want to try it out, go ahead.
However, If you're still not over this girl, tell her you're not over her, you need some space & time so you can get over her. Then go & get over her!
This kind of stuff at your age can really mess you up emotionally well into adulthood.

ok lets see....u follow ur exs advices whenever u want BUT when it comes to ur body FIND A GUY TO follow his advise.
but as for me i prefer men with smooth legs!!lols!!!
oh yeah i remembered something..young guys with shaved legs means a really bad thing.........so DONT DO IT!!
and dont even try.coze after trying u wont be able to have hairy legs again,(hair)will be kinda dark black and thick (too thick)after shaving.

Heck no don't shave them! Trimming maybe... but definately not shaving! You can always get some beard & mustache trimmers or even clippers like you get a haircut with and trim with those.

Please, don't shave or trim them. Not for her, or anyone else. Girls tend to see hairy legs as masculine, they are your hairs, not hers, leave them be, if you trim them, they will get worse as the ends of the hairs which are thinner than the roots will be cut off, so they will actually be thicker.
