ok,so is this a false pregnancy or not?two nights ago she started to leak milk out of 2-3 nipples but no big chance in behavior yesterday she was hanging out and was leaking milk from just about all nipple steadily and pacing around just a bit, she took a liking to her squekey tennis ball and carried it around with her. today she's still leaking quite a bit and now she added her little stuffed beaver (don't ask!) and walking around with that in her mouth and whimping off and on.i was going to take her to the vet first thing this morning to conform one way or another and,one vet is closed due to remodel and the other one said they can't even squick her in for 10 minutes to just look, feel and, listen to her untill NEXT friday, the next closest vet is a few hours away and i can't drive that far.do i just keep an eye on her and let nature take it course or is there something i can do?i can't feel any babies but then again i dont know where to begain.she is 1.5yrs old last heat was 2 mth ago

she's put on a little weight but she's not belly dragging fat! we had a next store dog (chain fence between them) and i know he wasn't fixed but, we didn't leave her out for very long and we kept an eye on her but, dogs will be dogs. if this is a false how long will it last? and she won't let her temp be taken and hubby won't help to keep her still. i have a welping box prepared, just in case but i don't know how else to check, like i said i PERSONALLY can't feel anything but she seems to suck her belly up when i try, she's dug 2 HUGE holes in tghe back which is a little off for her and she's even more lovey then before. i know false pregnancies mimick a true one, but there is a chance that she might be.... whats the chance that theres only a few (like 2-3) puppies in there and thats why i can't feel them......thanks to all of you for your help. i'm just a little concerned and i'm making myself crazy trying to figure out ...is she or is she not

Was she bred intentionally?? Was she left unattended while she was in heat?????
If either of these have happened, assume and PREPARE for puppies. Better to be prepared than suprised!!!!! You need to have a vet that will be available if there are whelping problems, or a c-section is needed.
Call and make sure someone is taking emergency calls.

OKay - I had almost the exact same situation. I have a female german shepherd mix. We have a neighbor with an intact male. I knew she was in heat but we have a 6 ft fence around our yard so I wasn't worried. What I didn't know - my neighbor told me about a month after she was in heat that she used to jump over our fence and play with his dog. So even if you had a fence betwen them, trust me - a dog in heat will do anything to get to a male. I would actually be suprised if it was a false pregnancy. We thought ours was, too, at first. Now we have 6 puppies.
You can only feel the puppies when they move, and only for a short period of time. If it was 2 months ago then it is probably too far along for you to feel them. She is probably gettin ready to have the puppies any day now. This was my experience. Towards the end we noticed our dog had lost some hair on her belly, her nipples and belly skin had darkened, her nipples were bigger and harder and she had milk. Her vulva was swollen - almost pertruding. She had gained some weight and her belly seemed bigger, but it wasn't that much (not like a person where you just can't miss it, just bigger than normal).
The couple days before she had the puppies she would lay down on her side, all stretched out really far. That was unusual for her and I read that most dogs do that to help the puppies move down. About a day before she will stop eating, even tempting human food. As she goes into labor (an hour or two before they are born) she may start to nest, she may look for a comfy place to hide or as in my dog's case - she followed me around everywhere, she wouldn't let me out of her sight. She also seemed very, very restless - constantly shifting positions like she couldn't get comfortable. She was also anxious and right before they were born she started panting a lot. I took her to the whelping box and sat with her for a while. She was fine while I was there. Then all of the sudden she jumped up and yelped, and squatted down like she was going to poop and a puppy popped out. Over the next 3 hours 5 more came along. They are 6 days old now.
Good luck!

sounds like a false pregnancy. Which is exactly that, all the behaviors of being pregnant, but no pups. but if she was just in 2 months ago, she may really be pregnant. Did she take on extra weight? what is her temperature? take it twice a day, at the same times every day. usually the drop around the 63rd day. check you calendar and verify how long it has been...oh, did you breed her or was she ever in situation where she could have been bred?
usually around the 58-60 day it will look like pups in her belly drop down farther. they are getting ready for birth. does she look like the pups have moved. with a few larger litters, i was actually able to see the pup's head moving, kinda like a protruding lump on the females side. pretty cool, like feeling a baby move. it would really be beneficial to get her temp. what does she do when you try to take it? stand straddling her so that one leg is on either side of her belly, facing her back end. gently hold her with your legs and inset the thermometer into her rectum. this way she is secure and can not bite you.

OK she is nesting and that is natural. she may be getting ready to have the puppies. and it doesn't seem like anything is wrong or she would let you know. she may be ready to have the puppies sooner then you think so just try laying her down and petting her belly she might be having contractions that could be why she is wining.the best thing you can do for her is comfort her do not let her go through this delivery alone it may take all night for her to have the puppies but it sounds like she is ready all of the sings are there passing nesting and whining and panting.
Good luck

I would say it is a false pregnancy, we had a bassett that would do that every time she went into heat she would get maybe 4 or 5 toys and lay with them and she would have milk coming out too. If you think she is pregnant then take her to the vet they can tell just by feeling her stomach. Good Luck

OMG. those all of us is so clueless. i'm conscious that mounting is a demonstration of dominance interior the canine international yet i think of she exchange into mounting the previous boy reason she observed a undertaking getting out of hand. seems the female Pit had extra experience than the people. and that i bypass to ought to consult with my fellows. they do no longer look to be conscious that they are beginning as much as appear as if a wuss because of the fact a woman is mounting them. of direction that must be reason I took their manhood away once I had them neutered. This babbler and ranter is amazingly humorous and quite ought to get a e book right down to earnings a thank you to place in writing a letter. i think of even in an digital mail it quite is difficulty-loose prepare to end the component at the same time with your call. i think of she only pronounced as herself an @sshole. i think of we ought to continually rescue the Pit lower back >>>from this family contributors. OOPS. there's a guy that incorporates my dad's ranch that makes the hair stand on each and every of the canine. He does fix paintings to three of the bigger equipment and has to come again on party. The canine do unlike him in any respect and he would not have confidence them. i think of the guy has a everyday worry of canine. We continually attempt and be sure they're penned or interior, staring on the canine, whilst he has to come again. BethJ: I had no longer even theory-approximately that! are you able to think of this group with a clutter of Pit doggies?

If she were that close to labor, you should be able to feel movement. Have you just laid your hand on her tummy to feel for periods of time?
The uterus has two horns like a Y. There would be puppies on both sides of her tummy.
