same situation. We reluctantly registered because people wanted us to.

Since it is your first you may register. Follow the usual rules and have items in a range of prices. Info is only spread by word of mouth if someone asks you.
If there are any children from the first marriage it is NOT appropriate to put items like toys, cribs, etc. on the list.

If you do not register, prepare to get a lot of odd junk like lenox frames and sheets for bed sizes you do not have.. without a clue where to return them.. if you feel it is inappropriate to register for many household items set up a registry with your travel agent..

Hi and congratulations!
It is perfectly fine to register. This is YOUR first marriage and you will need all the things couples need when first starting out.
Good luck!

Register anyway. People are going to get you gifts regardless, that way they will have a little bit of a direction.

I was in the same position, and we registered. When he got divorced he lost most of the household items, anyway, so we really did need things like a toaster and a blender.

I am in the same situation and we are going to register. He is not going to advertise it to his family, who have already attended a wedding for him, but I am going to let my family and friends know if they ask since this will be the first time around for me.

Register, if people want to get you a gift, they'll know what you want. If they don't, it shouldn't matter to them. This is your first wedding and your family and friends are going to want to give you presents.

I think it's appriopriate to registry considering you are a first time bride. More then likely your female friends and family members will want to throw you a bridal shower. You'll need items on a registry so people don't have to walk around guessing what you need.
I think it's fine
