I have suffered from a number of chronic health conditions, including fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue for 13+ years
I have finally become fed up with all the medications. They do little or no good, and they all have side effects.
Recently, I met with the director of AdvoCare's sci-med board, http://tinyurl.com/2z5ayl, a nutritional supplement company. I am on a regimen of vitamins and supplements to target specific CAUSES for many of my symptoms from fatigue and serotonin depletion to nerve pain, weak immune system, and joint/muscle pain.
I have been taking these products for about six weeks, and I feel better than I have in years. Additionally, I am down to 2 medications from seven daily meds, with hopes to wean off of those within 6-9 months!
If you are interested in learning more about any of the products or how they have helped me, please feel free to contact me - 24karatglobal@gmail.com. I am so excited to finally feel like I am on the road to improved health!
Good luck (-:

I would recommend Barefoot Coral Calcium. I was diagnosed with Fibro three years ago and tried everything the Dr's suggested with no luck. Then a friend told me about Barefoot. At first I said "yeah right" but took it anyway since I was in so much pain and figured the calicum couldn't hurt. But let me tell you, after about 3 weeks I could all of a sudden start and do things. Energy was back up and everything. Before this I went though I a period where I couldnt bend to touch my toes.
It is sold in GNC stores and is only about $20 a bottle. I took the recommended 3 capsules a day. Stuff worked like a charm for me. Hopefully it will work for you too. Best of luck

There are as many ways as there are body processes. Muscles contract and relax as a result of the citric acid cycle and production of ATP (energy) plus normal calcium metabolism. If that is your problem then nutrients that run the process of energy making and calcium metabolism would help. (ie calcium, magnesium, manganese, Vit D, K, B1, 2, 3, 5, and lipoic acid)
There are many reasons for abnormal excitation of nociceptors (pain receptors):
Inflammation (Fish oils, Ginger, Vit C)
Cortisol and stress: (Ginseng, glandulars, Choline, other stress remedies)
Insulin: (Vanadium, chromium, gymnema, zinc)
Toxicity: for heavy metals (DMSA) environmental chemicals (glutathione, methionine, B12, folic, sulfur, Molybdenum)
I am not trying to confuse you! The point is that there are many reasons for abnormal perception of pain and/or muscle tightness.
If you can diagnose why you feel pain, you can realize the right or correct natural supplement that will help improve these natural processes.
Search functional medicine for resources.

Fibromyalgia is so hard to deal with & everyone is going to tell you what works...drs, therapists, pts, the ppl down the street. The sad truth is, no one thing works for everyone. There is no magic bullet for fibro. There are no insulin shots or high blood pressure pills or calcium tablets for fibro. There is too much still unknown about it to have any real idea of how to treat it. And, that, my friend, is what makes it so frustrating for me & you when we go to the dr & are prescribed meds that don't work, and prescribed more meds that don't work, and.... So all I can tell you is what has worked best for me. There are no guarantees it will work for you but some of it is common sense. Diet: No sugar, white flour, white rice, or white potatoes. Limit caffeine. Avoid alcohol. Eat lots of fresh fruits & vegs. Eat whole grains in moderation. Limit fruit juices. Eat low fat meat, fish, & poultry. Drink lots of pure water. Avoid artificial sweeteners. Exercise: Gentle adaptive exercise such as walking, adaptive yoga, adaptive aquatics, or stretching. Massage, chiropractic services, hot soaks, & heating pads. Topical analgesics such as BioFreeze or Theragesic. Relaxation or distraction therapy. The supplements I take are as follows: magnesium & cherry fruit extract for muscle spasms & inflammation. Fish oil, flax seed oil, CoQ10 to support heart & circulation. Probiotics for digestion. I am not off all of my rx but I am off all of my pain meds & anti-inflammatories plus antidpressants...another one they love to prescribe. The meds I remain on are for conditions that may or may not be related to fibro but are separate diagnoses. I am still in pain, but I am able to manage my pain much more effectively & I feel that I have taken control of my life rather than letting fibro control it.

There's a few things that help some people to variable degrees:
* theraputic massage
* stretching or yoga
* Magnesium supplements (relieves muscle tightness/aches caused by depletion of magnesium)
